We are officially in 2022! Some of us are feeling the overwhelming rush of the new year. The holiday season may have been a whirlwind, but now it’s time to get organized and get a head-start on your Human Resources projects. Continue reading to find our simple checklist for starting the new year right – HR Style!
- Prepare for reporting Forms 1094-C and 1095-C to the IRS (50+ employees)
- Make any necessary updates to your benefits packages new health insurance cards to employees
- Send W-2s and 1099s
- Review employee wage, tax, and withholding information (such as W-4s)
- Remind employees to review/update their W-4’s
- Update employee handbook and/or policies
- Verify that correct labor laws are properly posted
- Update your random testing rates to ensure DOT compliance (Find DOT’s random testing rates for 2022 here)
- Develop and communicate your company, departmental and individual goals to set up the annual performance review process
- Remind employees to update information (addresses, emergency contacts, tax documents, beneficiaries, etc.)
- Shred documents that have exceeded record retention guidelines
